911 call reveals woman screaming for help before allegedly being stabbed by boyfriend

New details have been released in the fatal stabbing of a young woman who Texas authorities say was killed by her boyfriend.

The woman was identified by her family as 27-year-old Daphne Michelle Davila. El Paso County sheriff’s officials said she was found seriously injured on Jan. 5 when they arrived at the scene on Zinc Place around 3:30 a.m.

Davila was taken to hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The murder suspect, identified as a 30-year-old man Jorge Albert Chavez, he was seen leaving a house on Zinc Place.

When officers arrived, they found Chavez parked in front of the home. Chavez allegedly reversed and accelerated toward the deputy, struck the unit and fled the area.

The deputy then entered the home and saw Davila lying on the kitchen floor with a large amount of blood and a knife to her throat.

An arrest affidavit obtained by KFOX shows Davila was gasping for air and appeared to be conscious.

911 calls revealed that Davila had asked for help, claiming that Chavez had attacked her with his fists. She also told dispatchers she was hiding in the last room of the house.

She again asked the dispatcher for help, claiming that her boyfriend Chavez was breaking down the door to her room.

Shortly after Davila screams and Chavez’s voice is heard on the 911 call.

You can also hear loud bangs like an attack, followed by the sounds of panting and heavy breathing.

Deputies interviewed Chavez’s friend.

The friend told officers that Chavez called him and confessed to killing Davila, then said he wanted to commit suicide.

Chavez is being held in the El Paso County Detention Center on $1 million bail on murder charges after he was extradition on the weekend.
